How to prepare for your experience
Avoid wearing eye makeup to your eyelash appointment. Remove mascara, eyeliner, and other eye makeup and moisturizer before- hand. Although the lash stylist will have eye cleanser on hand, removing eye makeup can be time-consuming and takes away from your lash extension application time and could possibly cause adhesive problems. Also, avoid curling your lashes ─come with your lashes in their natural state.
Avoid caffeine and stimulates that may put you in an agitated state preventing you from becoming still and relaxed during your appointment.
Minimize your allergy concerns. It is recommended that you consider taking an oral and/or ophthalmic antihistamine prior to your appointment.
Expect to undergo a consultation with your Stylist to determine whether you are a good candidate for eyelash extensions. Because the consultation and paperwork can be time- consuming, it helps if you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your appointment.
During the consultation, you will be presented with two forms; the Client Intake Form and the Consent for Eyelash Procedure Form. It is essential that you fill out the Client Intake Form truthfully, so any preexisting conditions can be taken into consideration. Certain illnesses, injuries, medications, allergies, and hormone imbalances or fluctuations might not make you a good candidate for the procedure, in that you may be prone to premature eyelash loss. Your lash stylist will thoroughly go over your answers and discuss with you your suitability for the application.
Signing the Consent for Eyelash Procedure Form indicates that you acknowledge awareness of any risks involved, waive all liability, and permit the use of any pictures taken before, during and after the procedure. Additionally, bring a list of all your allergies, including allergies to adhesives, band aids, or tape in general.
*Please note that if you are under the age of 18, a parent/ guardian must complete the Client Intake & Consent Form for you
The application process can take anywhere from an hour to two hours depending on the fullness of your natural lashes. You will lay comfortably on a massage table, with a blanket and pillow if needed. Your eyes will be closed and bottom lashes covered with tape for your protection.
